Let’s talk about professional hair & make-up.

Most of my clients look forward to a day of pampering with professional hair & make-up before a boudoir photo session. But I also get questions from women who don’t normally wear make-up or prefer to do their own and have concerns about this part of our day. First, I want to assure you that my hair & make-up artist, Diana is the BEST! She is a licensed esthetician and experienced with all skin types and tones, from the palest of porcelain to darkest of skins.  She also talks with you before she starts so she can create the look you want for your boudoir session. Because Diana is familiar with the lighting in my studio & she also does weddings, she knows exactly how to create looks that translate well in your boudoir photographs! Diana’s approach is to enhance your features and beauty, not to mask them.  She’ll look at your features and bring out the best in them.  If you want a natural look, she can do that for you…if you want a dramatic look, she can do that for you too!

NATURAL GLAM MAKE-UP LOOKS

A Natural Glam look enhances your natural beauty with soft simmers and light colors in neutral tones. This is the perfect option for someone who wants to look natural glam with a touch of elegance. The main focal point of this look is beautiful skin that shines with radiance and puts extra emphasis on a glow within your complexion with a smooth finish.

DRAMATIC MAKE-UP LOOKS

A dramatic make-up look is one of the most common and most challenging looks out there, but also the most glamorous. The great thing about a smoky eye is that it’s absolutely stunning in photos. We certainly don’t need to stick to gray/black when it comes to your look. This look can be achieved using plums, browns, or blues. Since this is a dramatic makeup look, it’s best to keep the rest of the face more muted, and let your eyes be the focal point.

NATURAL MAKE-UP LOOKS:

While natural makeup may sound simple, it’s anything but! There is a good deal of skill required to allow natural beauty to shine through a full-face of makeup.

This is the perfect option for anyone who does not typically wear a lot of makeup or none at all. The main focal point of this look is beautiful skin that shines with radiance and puts extra emphasis on a bright complexion with a smooth finish. The basics are a selecting a good primer and using the best techniques to apply foundation, hide imperfections with concealer, and stick to matte powder and eyeshadow to complete the look.
