How does a trained painter and photographer decide she wants to start a boudoir business?
A few years ago, I was approached by a woman who had seen my portraits. She was fifty-nine, working with a personal trainer, and was in the best shape of her life. She wanted to celebrate her hard work and honor who she was at that moment – a sexy, proud and powerful woman. Although I hadn’t done boudoir photography before, she wondered if I’d be open to trying. I’d always loved helping people feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera, so helping women in a more intimate setting felt like a natural progression. Soon I was shooting women of all ages and body types, celebrating them during their session and leaving them with works of art that would forever honor who they were and are. Working with women to help capture and display their sensual side has become my passion.

Hi, I’m Diana, Licensed Esthetician and Makeup Artist. My goal is to accentuate your natural beauty while making you feel amazing on your special day. My philosophy is simple: Every makeup application I do is a piece of art that I have the honor of creating. My vivid imagination of enhancing your beauty will capture your unique essence. One’s reputation is only as good as her last client's satisfaction, so I strive to do the very best, even in the most challenging situations.
I got my start in the world of makeup artistry when the opportunity presented itself to have fun and makeover my friends, family and colleagues. Little did I know, that their positive feedback and encouragement would convince me to pursue this now passion of mine. I am a business woman, self-educated on everything beauty through hands-on experience and by attending some of the best seminars with successful, professional makeup artists, from across the country.
about our studio
Her Story Images studio is located a quiet, residential neighborhood in the Oakland Hills. A large flexible space with sheer curtains, hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows serves as our main shooting area. I work with natural light which floods the studio from 3 directions in the late morning. Various pieces of furniture and blankets can be moved in and out as needed to create clutter free, artistic images that focus on the female form. Working out of a residential studio allows for a comfortable and private environment. While I always suggest clients bring items from home, we do have an extensive lingerie closet including: sheer & lace robes, body suits, teddies, garters & stockings, bra & panty sets, sheer scarves, and veils. There's also a large kitchen for espresso drinks and snacks. You'll have a designated bathroom and private space during your shoot, and a separate art studio is used for printing & processing photographs and for ordering appointments. And there is always free street parking.

Most women are worried about what to wear for a boudoir photo session. I always suggest staring with your closet! Boudoir doesn't have to be limited to lingerie. Look for sheers, lace, textured fabrics, a soft sweater, furry jacket, sexy dress, or even a sheer scarf all work great for boudoir! While clients bring their own lingerie, I do have items that can be borrowed during photo sessions in sizes small to 4XL: sheer & lace robes, body suits, teddies, sheer scarves, pearls and veils.
